The Arcade Graveyard: Ghoulishly We Play Rapid Hero, Rayforce Rapid Hero has you choose your androgynous player with semi-male and female characteristics, and you hop in your jet fighter to shoot some shit with swarms of enemies. That's about it, standard gun that uprades, a big screen killer weapon that kills lots of things on the screen. The backgrounds are typically bland, and the music and sound is meh.
Rayforce is a fun shooter. You have your basic gun and a lock-on gun that aims for enemies on a different plane than you are. Some of those enemies are giant battleships, some are robots, and some are the cannon-fodder spaceships that zoom around here and there. Sometimes those enemies will go from your plane and descend downward or vise-versa, and you can attack these enemies with both weapons. It's a fun game, and I'm glad that I can also play two of the other games in the series, Ray Crisis and Ray Storm, on a home gaming console. Oh yeah, almost forgot: big ridiculous boss battles!
